APPLICATION CRITERIA

Applicants for this prestigious award must possess superior teaching skills and outstanding leadership qualities. They must also have demonstrated distinguished performance through his/her accomplishments and a real devotion to the advancement of Canadian aviation safety. In particular, applicants will:

  1. Show interest and enthusiasm for teaching and for the promotion of student learning in a safe and challenging environment, evoking a true passion for flight.
  2. Demonstrate an ability to plan, design and organize course material while presenting it cogently and imaginatively.
  3. Have a superior command of the subject matter, including the incorporation of recent developments in the field of flight training.
  4. Demonstrate a professional and systematic approach to teaching development.
  5. Participate in professional activities related to flight training.
  6. Instill an attitude of safety by developing procedures and structures to incorporate safety goals into every aspect of training.
  7. Have accomplished noteworthy achievements in enhancing aviation safety through pilot education and the advancement of professional standards, constantly upgrading an already impressive record.
  8. Develop significant technical support skills in the field of flight instruction.
